Dr. Avanti Redkar
Featured in Los Angeles Magazine’s prestigious Top Doctors list of 2021, Dr. Avanti Redkar is a board-certified podiatrist with an emphasis on foot and ankle pathology.
Born in Pune, India, she and her family immigrated to Auburn, Alabama when she was four years old and then settled down near Scranton, Pennsylvania when she was eight.
She attended undergrad at the University of Scranton and graduated with a degree in biology. From there, she attended SUNY Buffalo to earn a Master’s degree in nutrition, and then podiatry school at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.
She completed a comprehensive three-year surgical residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, New York, where she was trained in foot and rearfoot surgery, wound care, and hyperbaric medicine. She then moved to sunny Santa Monica, California to do a one-year fellowship in sports medicine and ankle reconstruction.
Dr. Redkar loves to move and enjoys an active and vibrant recreational life. She loves tennis, working out, and hiking with her husband and adorable dog, Wrigley.
Growing up, she trained in classical Indian dance. During her training, she had several foot and ankle injuries which guided her to become a podiatrist. "I understand the impact that injuries can have on the activities we love to do. It is my goal to get you back on your feet as quickly as possible.
